    Once  you have had your class to learn how to use your overlocker it's time to explore how the other feet and accessories can add to your serging experience. Whether you want to quickly gather some fabric or add a professional finish to your t-shirt neckline, BERNINA has just the right tool to make it easy and fun!

    In this class we will meet the feet! and stitch out samples using feet and accessories for the L 450, L 460, L 850, L 860 and L 890.  This is a fun class that experiences all your machine can offer!

         DESCRIPTION:   This is more of a technique class but it also offers  a number of projects which you can make if you choose.  I have shown 2 versions of the "Remember me" Quilt on the website and in the store . The first was done with scrappy fabric choices, the 2ndexample was made using a collection of fabric. We can of course help you with many variations of these quilts if you decide you’d like to do a project out of this class! Don't be intimidated by the quilt, we approach 1 block at a time and you will enjoy how your skills will grow!  Please note this pattern is not for individual sale, only available thru the class Based on Kaye England’s Smart Piecing techniques, this class will share:  ·      Over 12 techniques and skills  ·      Perfecting your ¼ inch seams  ·      Learning Quilt elements and grids  ·      Recognizing / working with traditional directions, specialty rulers, and or Accuquilt  ·      Learning new connector blocks  ·      Blocks on point  ·      You will have options make the quilt as shown or to select/design one of the many options  ·      Working with a center medallion or replacing medallion with a panel  ·      Quilt planning  ·      Bonus design

    This sampler style 10-month Block of the Month quilt program features an on point layout of unique 9" blocks, 3" wide sashing, cornerstone stars, pieced setting triangles and slanted piano key-style border, using a beautiful new fabric collection called Sentiments by Kaye England for Wilmington Fabrics.
    Joining our block of the month class is an easy yet exciting way to finish a quilt without being overwhelmed. Enjoy quilting with the ease of a monthly accomplishment. 
    Our kit includes all the fabrics for the quilt top and binding plus instructions. This quilt pattern is exclusive with Block of the month kit, cannot be purchased individually. The Sentiments Fabric collection contain 24 different fabrics. The quilt finishes at 97 x 97, for a total of 20 1/2 yards of fabric. This quilt is a show stopper with a blend of traditional fabrics that gives a modern style design. "This quilt is the prettiest quilt Kaye England has designed," said Melinda, owner of Sew Original Boone. The quilt kit includes fabric for the quilt top, binding, instructions and pattern. This is for the confident beginner and beyond.

    Pattern is written in traditional format but Kathy will provide instruction to cut and piece using specialty rulers and/ or AccuQuilt in addition to the traditional method. 
    To reserve your kit before we release the fabric into the store's inventory, the reservation fee is $25, which will be deducted from the kit fee when the fabrics arrive.

    Your full kit price is $290. Your fabric discount or your Sew Original Bag Day discount will be applied upon purchase. you can purchase entire kit or purchase in 10 monthly installments.

    As for your your class options you have one of three choices.
    Choose between Evening class, Saturday class or FaceBook LIVE Class.
    The in-person will give you a free membership to FaceBook live group as a bonus.

    Starting in August
    Friday night class  will be the first Friday of the month
    August 4th from 5 to 8.
    Saturday morning class  will be the first Saturday of the month
    August 5th from 10 to 12.

    FaceBook LIVE group Membership in this private FaceBook Group is good from August 2023 - August 2024. Live videos will be recorded and stored in the FaceBook Group for the duration of the 2023 BOM so if you're not available to view them live they'll be there for you to watch later. This option is perfect for our seasonal or out of town customers.

    FREE MOTION MASTERY IN A MONTH
    ?    Designer RaNae Merril has developed a system to help develop your free motion skills as you quilt practice blocks.
    Completed 10" blocks are then cut and rearranged and assembled using a quilt-as-you-go technique.  This quilt is just one example as to how the quilted blocks can be arranged.  Check out this Ranae Merrill video explaining the FMM progam

    INTRODUCING LONG ARM QUILTING

    Are you curious about what a long arm quilting machine can do or maybe you have wanted to try one?   Well then...Join us for this  "QUILTING EVENT" . Event is FREE .
    You will actually be piecing and quilting a fun project! You will experience using the Pantograph, free motion quilting, Ruler work, couching, and echo quilting and so much more. This will be a round robin event where you will move between various machines.
    Seating in each event will be limited and may be scheduled on an individual basis!

    LONG ARM CERTIFICATION FRAME/ PANTOGRAGH

    Would you like to rent the Sew Original Boone q on the studio frame with pantograph ? Come and let us train you on how to use the pantograph and long arm. You will practice til comfortable  on plain fabric before your personal quilt is  loaded on the frame.  Expert help on hand throughout your training and rental. 
    Fun to use and so satisfying to know you  made your quilt from start to finish!

    PRAIRIE MEADOW APPLIQUE QUILT ALONG!  A SERIES of Classes
    ?     F     ee: $50 one time charge per “quilt along session”, plus kit cost. Each “Quilt Along Session” is 8 – 12 weeks
    Let’s quilt together! This is a great class for everyone from beginner to skilled sewer. We will all work on the same project in each quilt along session. We will complete 1-2 blocks per week. Each Quilt along "session" will feature a different technique to keep you learning and trying new things. Use your machine or ours.
    Our first project will be Lori Holt's Prairie Meadows . Our first project will be machine applique.

    Combining a ruler foot with various rulers, you can produce some wonderful quilt designs and add to the
    beauty of your free motion quilting. In this class you will learn to use the 5 different Bernina rulers and
    Amanda Murphy rulers and practice some beautiful designs 
    With Patty  you will learn so much! Something new is shared in every class, as she is constantly taking classes and improving her craft!

    SASHIKO 

    Sashiko stitching is a beautiful Japanese technique that can add detail to your projects. It’s not as difficult as you might think, and Patty will walk you through the basics of how to Sashiko stitch in this comprehensive guide. You’ll learn how to do the stitch, and see some examples of projects that use it. So let’s get started!
     What is Sashiko?   Sashiko is a type of needlework that uses a long running stitch to form geometric patterns. It is believed to have originated in Japan and the earliest use of this method was to reinforce clothing in order to make them hard wearing as well as provide warmth. Sashiko is mostly handwork but can be done by machine!
     Come and see what Patty has done..table topper, shirt, clutch purse, quilt squares, coasters! Endless possibilities!

    Coverstitch Clutch Wallet by Deb Canham

    This vibrant Chainstitch wallet is a fabulous design from Deb Canham Studios made for Bernina. This measures 7.5 x 7.5  but can easily be expanded to an alternate size. Techniques include decorative chain stitch, decorative 3 thread overlock, inserting a zipper with Piping foot, bi colored prairie points and a decorative flower. Kathy will get you started on the program and will show the video in class and help with the techniques. Then each student will receive an individual download code so they can watch the class again and again at home! We will offer kits made from vibrant Kaffe fabrics or fabric of your choice or you cna bring strips of fabric plus lining. You may use our serger or yours Class fee $20 .     Scrappy Bag on the Serger by Deb Canham

    This bag can be made on any serger.  Fabrics are scraps.  It measures 10w x 8h x 3.5 deep but there is also the option to make it 19w x 12h x 4.5 deep.  Handles are made out of covered tubing.  Decorative stitching is used to connect strips but you could use a regular thread and not have the decorative stitching.  Fun easy project.

    ?? Did you know your serger can create decorative stitches, insert piping, and make a tassel? I’m pleased to introduce you to the Tabitha Tote Serger Bag. Learn how to create two different types of flatlock stitches, square off bag bottoms, create plaid, work with decorative threads, and more. This project showcases 7 different serger techniques and you will stitch every inch of this bag on a serger.  This project does serge several stitches and  uses specialty presser feet. Stitches include: Chainstitch, 2-Needle Coverstitch Narrow,  2-Thread Flatlock Wide, 3-Thread Flatlock Wide,  3-Thread narrow + Chainstitch (requires a 5-Thread serger),

    Join us on Tuesday evenings for a FUN night of SEWING. Whether you want a night out with social sewing or you want to learn to sew or get back into sewing after time away. This fun project night is for you!
    Lots of options : bring your own project, make a project we recommend, ask for special help. ALL WE ASK IS THAT WE KNOW IN ADVANCE THAT YOU ARE PLANNING TO ATTEND! (must have 2 attendees signed up by noon each Tuesday to proceed) Fee :  If you need one on one assistance with a more complex quilting project we will provide SEW HELP ME class  for a fee of just $15 (advance sign up required so we can schedule the  appropriate teacher) Remember, store purchases during any of these classes are discounted 15%. 

    If we are not holding another class during the day, we can also consider starting this class earlier. As always if you need this class but can't do the scheduled time, let us know and we will see what we can do to accommodate your schedule.
