Quilts of Valor ?Sew Original Boone
Boone Quilts of Valor group is awarding quilts to area veterans! We appreciate the support provided by Sew Original!

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with Quilts of Valor, it is a national organization formed in 2003 (QOVF.org )to cover Service Members and Veterans touched by war with comforting and healing .
A Quilt of Valor® (QOV) is a quality, handmade quilt that is machine or hand quilted. It is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war. The Quilt says unequivocally, “Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation.” To date QOVF has awarded over 454,000 quilts!!! Our local group was formed in 2021, and has awarded more than 30 quilts just this year. At the present time, we have over 60 open requests for quilts and in need of more volunteers!
We need your help! We are asking your help in any or all the following :
- Join our group ($10 annual membership to National QOVF organization is available but not ) . To join, contact Kathy @ 727-992-7983
- Make a BLOCK or BLOCKS anytime. All donations are appreciated anytime. See block patterns below
- Donate money. CLICK HERE TO DONATE Your donation will supply fabric, threads, batting to make quilts. 100% of your donation supports making these quilts thru the purchase of supplies. The average quilt costs between $300- $500 to make! All quilters are volunteers donating their time and talent.

- A Quilt of Valor does not have to be red, white, and blue, but patriotic colors are extremely popular with recipients. Panels can provide a great focal point and bring in other colors. Think creatively with the recipient in mind.
- Recommended size: is 60" x 80"; minimum: 55" x 65"; maximum: 72" x 90".
- Use quality, adult-appropriate, 100% cotton, quilt-weight fabrics.

- Drop off blocks at SEW ORIGINAL BOONE all month long!
- Contact Kathy if you need fabric or more direction.
- Donate blocks anytime!
- 9 Patch Blocks : Make 9 patch blocks that finish to 12 ½ inches. C onstruct using 9 - 4 ½ squares Use 2 colors or many colors preferably in reds, whites, beiges, blues but no metallics in fabrics please.
- Valor Square block Click here for pattern This block can be cut with or without Accuquilt. Block can also be made smaller by adjusting sizes shown.
